Zapotec refers to the native population of Mexico, their language family consisting of more than Xv languages, & their historic culture & traditions. Now, virtually all of the Zapotec languages come endangered.

A Zapotec humans come centered within Oaxaca, to the south of central Mexico. Within Pre-Columbian times they were one of a major Mesoamerican civilizations. Archaeological grounds to believe shows their culture goes back occasionally 2500 years. It left archaelogical grounds to believe at a sooner & telling ancient city of Monte Albán; in the form of buildings, ball courts, magnificent grave & grave goods including finely worked gold jewellery. Monte Albán wwhen a 1st major city in a american hemisphere & the center of a Zapotec State that dominated great deal of what i personally understand of as the todays state of Oaxaca.

the Zapotecs developed the calendar & the logophonetic patterns of writing that utilized a separate glyph to represent both of the syllables of the language. This orthography is considered to become a basis of the more Mesoamerican orthography developed per Maya, Mixtec, and Aztec civilizations. In the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, there were Zapotec and Mixtec artisans living in the city whose occupation was to fashion jewellery for even the Aztec Tlatoanis, or rulers. These involved a famed Motecuhzoma II. Relations sustaining central Mexico last back tremendously farther still, every bit attested per archeological remains of the Zapotec front yard inside Teotihuacan and a Teotihuacan styled "guest house" in Monte Albán. More crucial Pre-Columbian Zapotec web sites include Lambityeco, Dainzu, Mitla, Yagul, San Jose Mogote, and Zaachila.

A best known Zapotec human within modern days was Benito Juárez, generally look on Mexico's greatest President.

There are across 400,000 Zapotec humans sleep in Mexico now.
